Becoming is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to empowering young women who have grown up without the love or presence of a father figure in their lives. Studies have shown that the absence of a father can lead to negative beliefs about self-worth, which may cause some young women to engage in risky behaviors in order to seek validation. Our programs aim to break this dangerous cycle by providing a safe and non-judgmental space where young women can rediscover their inherent value.
We offer a range of workshops, spiritual mentoring, and counseling to support the overall well-being of girls who have been affected by the absence of their fathers. Our goal is to help young women transform their stories and provide them with the necessary tools to break the generational cycle of pain. Our programming is designed to promote healing, self-acceptance, and purpose.
Our ultimate goal is to empower young women to take charge of their future by replacing pain with purpose and self-doubt with self-love. We believe that by doing so, we can help young women realize their full potential and create a better future for themselves and their communities.

Our vision is a world where every woman recognizes her inherent worth and confidently pursues her purpose. Our organization supports girls who lack their father's love by introducing them to the love of the Heavenly Father. We aim to create a safe and non-judgmental space where young women, who have been hurt by their absentee fathers, can find healing and regain their limitless potential.
We believe in nurturing the whole being - mind, body, and spirit - to empower our sisters to turn their struggles into strengths. Coaching, spiritual grounding, and a supportive community are the tools we use to guide them towards breaking free from generational cycles of pain and fulfilling their destiny as daughters of the Divine.

Our Mission
At Becoming, our mission is to guide those who seek validation in the wrong places towards a better path. We demonstrate what it means to receive unconditional love from the Heavenly Father, freeing individuals from flawed self-perceptions. We intend to inspire young women to recognize their value and worth, and to show them that love and respect are unconditional.
Our mentors are experienced and dedicated to breaking the cycle of trauma. We focus on addressing harmful behaviors that affect fatherless daughters.

Travis and Valencia Shaw are leaders with a vision. They are revolutionizing communities through their transformative organization, Becoming. Their unwavering dedication to empowering youth and breaking cycles of trauma has had a profound impact on individuals worldwide. Despite facing challenging childhoods marked by family struggles, they have triumphed over adversity and emerged as beacons of inspiration.
Valencia Mornix-Shaw, the President, and Founder of Becoming, draws strength from her personal journey. Growing up in a fatherless home, she understands the profound impact it can have on a young woman's self-esteem and relationships. Through her own process of self-destruction and subsequent rebirth, Valencia discovered her divine calling: to empower young women on their path of self-discovery. With her compelling testimony, she serves as a trusted voice, coach, and mentor, helping young women rediscover their inherent worth. Valencia inspires everyone to embrace their true potential regardless of past hardships.
Travis Shaw is the Vice President and Founder of Becoming's remarkable boys' chapter, Becoming Men. Despite his father's battle with addiction, Travis found solace and guidance in his loving and wise grandfather, who became his anchor of support. Through his own quest for identity, Travis realized his purpose: to be a role model for today's youth. Fueled by an unwavering passion to inspire the next generation, he imparts invaluable life lessons and helps young individuals discover their true selves as they embark on their own transformative journey of Becoming.
